Group of Women Ambassadors to UNESCO for Gender Equality
In October 2006, the Group of Women Ambassadors to UNESCO for Gender Equality was established under the initiative of the Mauritian Permanent Delegate to UNESCO at the time, Ambassador Indira Thacoor-Sidaya.
Its aim is to share information on, and experiences in, the promotion of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment and Rights in all Member States and in all areas of the Organization’s work as well as in the Secretariat. It also seeks to ensure that gender concerns are mainstreamed into all the Organization’s work and fields of competence.
Ambassador Mary M. Khimulu has been an active member of the Group
