Kenya’s New Ambassador to UNESCO, H.E. Professor Peter K. Ngure, Presents Letters of Accreditation
On February 28, 2024, His Excellency Professor Peter K. Ngure, the newly appointed Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Kenya to UNESCO, officially presented his credentials to Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
In a formal ceremony, H.E. Professor Ngure presented the letters accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Kenya to UNESCO. This marked the beginning of his tenure, during which he will represent Kenya in all matters concerning UNESCO, including education, culture, science, and communication.
Professor Ngure, a distinguished academic and diplomat, brings with him extensive experience in science and education, both key areas of focus within UNESCO. His appointment underscores Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with UNESCO in advancing global initiatives that promote peace, development, and intercultural dialogue.
Ms. Azoulay welcomed Professor Ngure and expressed UNESCO’s readiness to work closely with the Kenyan delegation in furthering the organization’s goals.
