Launch of the Talents of the Future Program

The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Kenya to UNESCO, under the leadership of H.E. Ambassador Prof. Peter Ngure, is proud to support the launch of the Talents of the Future (Talents d’Avenir) program. This groundbreaking initiative will open new doors for Kenyan youth by providing opportunities to join French organizations as interns, gaining valuable international exposure and professional experience.

Each year, nearly 10,000 internships are offered by French companies across Africa. For the first time, Talents of the Future will spotlight young African interns, including Kenyans, who are ready to contribute their skills and creativity to dynamic industries and build lasting bridges between Africa and Europe.

This year, seven talented African interns have been selected as laureates of the program and are currently in Paris to begin their journey. The program was officially launched with a welcome luncheon at Hôtel Le Marois, attended by Mr. Philippe Labonne, President of Africa Global Logistics and Chairman of the Africa Committee of MEDEF International, alongside representatives from the four founding companies: Africa Global Logistics, CANAL+ Group, Galileo Global Education, and Orange Telecom.

The day continued with an engaging exchange between the interns and H.E. Ambassador Prof. Peter Ngure and his delegation. Discussions focused on the perspectives of African youth and UNESCO’s role in addressing the challenges of tomorrow, including education, culture, and the rights of women. These conversations highlighted the program’s broader mission: empowering young Africans to shape the continent’s future while strengthening sustainable partnerships with global stakeholders.

With the backing of committed partners, Talents of the Future embodies a strong conviction: investing in African youth is investing in the continent’s future. The Delegation warmly welcomes this initiative and remains committed to creating platforms that empower young Kenyans, promote innovation, and advance sustainable development.
