OUR MANDATE
To effectively represent the Government and the people of Kenya within UNESCO and promote Kenya’s National Interests in UNESCO, its affiliate agencies and partner Organizations.
In partnership with UNESCO and other member states, the Kenyan Delegation plays a pivotal role in championing initiatives that contribute to the protection of World Heritage Sites, the promotion of inclusive education, and the support of local and indigenous knowledge systems. We also engage in dialogue on global issues such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, and freedom of expression.
Our delegation works closely with Kenyan institutions, civil society, and international partners to ensure that Kenya’s values and aspirations are reflected in global policies and decisions. Through our representation at UNESCO, we aim to create opportunities that enhance Kenya’s cultural and intellectual contributions to the world.
We welcome collaboration and engagement with all stakeholders to further our shared goals of peace, sustainability, and human dignity.
