Kenya demonstrated its leadership in digital governance at the inaugural Tech Diplomacy Forum, held on 18 June 2025 at UNESCO Paris. Represented by H.E. Ambassador Philip Thigo, Presidential Special Envoy on Technology, Kenya’s delegation highlighted the country’s and Africa’s voice in shaping global digital policy and ethical technology standards.

The forum provided a platform to emphasize why tech diplomacy is critical for Kenya: to influence global norms on artificial intelligence, data sovereignty, and cybersecurity; to build capacity for tech-savvy diplomats and ethical innovation; and to attract strategic partnerships that strengthen digital infrastructure and skills across the region.
